Nutrition   

We strongly believe our mood and energy comes from what we put into our bodies. Internal health will come with feeding your body the nutrients and vitamins it deserves through whole food meals. Set your focus here first, and the aesthetics will follow.  

We can’t overstate the importance of coupling a healthy “diet” into our plan with our clients. The word “diet” is sometimes used loosely by society to describe a period to cut out foods. However, we encourage this to be a transition in your new health lifestyle to teach and improve what, how much and why we eat.  

We offer nutritional guidance to improve energy, maximize fat loss, increase strength and perform at our best for whatever life throws at us.  In a world with overwhelming amounts of information about nutrition we strive to stick to the objective numbers and facts.  Give us the opportunity to set you up for success by using state-of-the-art assessments and equipment to home in on the facets of health that really matter.  One such tool we use to set a benchmark and track health progress is by utilizing our “InBody 570” machine assessment.  This amazing tool helps us analyze and learn more about those objective health numbers.  This tool gives us not only a benchmark of where we are, but also gives our clients the ability to track that data as they trust our guidance on their health pursuits.  


InBody 570    

How many times have we stepped on a scale, glanced at the number, and stepped right off without thinking about the components of the solitary, ominous number we just saw. We passionately believe the number on the scale is just a number.    

The InBody 570 machine holds its place in the fitness industry by giving us an analysis of our body composition that as we stated before is far more than the scales generic number.  Dissecting that number tells a whole different story of what we see on the scale and breaks it down into actual key facts.  The breakdown includes total body water (extracellular and intracellular water), muscle-fat analysis, body fat percentage, segmental lean analysis (determining any skeletal muscle imbalances within the body) and a plethora of other datapoints we lean on to detail our client’s current health as well as track their progress.  


Trackman Golf Simulator:   

 Golf has become more than a sport to some health professionals including us here at PHP fitness. Golf allows for outdoor, healthy social habits. For some, golf was a literal outlet during covid and a chance to get more “real” vitamin D stimulating light and less blue light in dark rooms with numerous screens. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or someone who wants to give it a shot, our professionals can get you dialed in using our Trackman golf simulator. The numbers the Trackman identifies explain a story of the moving parts that create the swing. Coupling isolation training, stretching and massage therapy is a terrific way to get those moving parts to send the ball in the right direction. Reach out now to one of our golf professionals; they will appreciate the opportunity to help get the ball rolling (and flying) to better health, movement, and the overall swing.

David LaDriere
Personal Trainer

In college at the University of Alabama David, studied Kinesiology from 2009-2013 where he applied what he was learning at a therapy clinic connected to Tuscaloosa Hospital. There he worked with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s patients on neuromotor control where his knack for helping became rooted in his passion for training.

After graduation, David worked for several different training, health, and therapy clinics for and alongside Professional Trainers, Physical Therapists, MAT specialists, Chiropractors, and Dietitians. His time with Muscle Activation Specialists encouraged him into a more niche approach to training: Finding limitations and resolving asymmetries through sequences of active stretches, Isolation training, and programming geared toward a particular subsystem.

Cervando Govea
Personal Trainer

From a young age, Cervando has been studying the art of health.  Be it during his time in health restaurants creating meals with the right macros to help his clients perform at their best or his proclivity for coupling strength training with nutrition; wholistic wellness became his focus. He figured nutrition begets strength and strength encourages better nutrition.  Putting these two objective facts together, Cervando moved into strength training with a high focus on nutrition. 

Cervando’s continued studies of nutrition and attentiveness to the fundamentals learned through The National Academy of Sports Medicine he moved on to a nutrition-focused gym.  While working there, it was easy to note the benefit of client-tailored meals and workout programs together. His client’s success with attaining their health-related goals spurred him into furthering his dream of focusing on holistic health for his clients.

With the help of his business partners, he inspired a broader range of health and wellness with the creation of Performance Health Professionals LLC.  Cervando’s hope is to have the opportunity to help with whatever health-related objectives you are working on.
